Welcome to the world of SISTER JACK

The Music Industry is going down and the World Business Economy is right behind it.
We're going against the grain and are forming a record label. Why? Because it must go on, will go on and because good music still does not deserve to be reduced to a load of noughts and ones, to rot in one of the world's innumerable myspace-players.

We hope you enjoy listening to our releases.

Sister Jack veröffentlicht Schlag auf Schlag....:

COLLAPSE UNDER THE EMPIRE - Find A Place To Be Safe

'Find A Place To Be Safe' CD release date 27.11.2009

Find A Place To Be Safe kennt keine Grenzen.

Collapse Under The Empire created their own unique style and by doing what they confined to themselves from post-rock standards. Find A Place To Be Safe brims over with power and intensity. It's a soundtrack for the apocalypse without a happy end. Inspired by Orwell's thought of an authoritarian state Collapse Under The Empire composed songs, like Take A Shot On Me and the claustrophobic album title track, to create a fitting instrumental background for societies similar to Orwell's dark visions for the future. There are dark end time scenarios accentuated musically, which can also be seen in the artwork. Find A Place To Be Safe is an album without any restrictions. Keyboard sounds flood your auditory canals, strings rule over the silence, while guitar walls pierce through sound barriers. Your own imagination is be winged by reappearing flashes of sound that sometimes flow through what you expected to be silent. Everything goes, everything is possible and the album seems to change when you listen to it more than once. Collapse Under The Empire will cause the listener to react from total relaxation to cold sweated fear, and then embark on a journey through colourful worlds of sound. A journey through ice, fire, fog and reality to help you find your own soul.

press statements about the band:
Radio K (US)
....it socked us so hard we can't recognize its towering levels of awesome. Yes it's post-rock but it embodies the genre without pretention or artsy flourishes, only sheer brute strength and thundering intensity. They don't beat around the bush - both their band name and album title imply a bloody dystopia, an apocalyptic reckoning that will be as gorgeous as it is inevitable.
Future Perfect Radio (US)
....creating the kind of lush instrumental landscapes you might expect would come from a German duo. While fans of post-rock will take strongly to Collapse Under the Empire, they say there's a little bit more to their music than that.
noiZine (GR)
Nice sound and one of the most acceptable post-rock albums of the year. After all these replicas and really boring releases of the last years in the genre of post-rock and other instrumental music branches , this album is an exception. I can say, even if they don’t have vocals, that this band can touch inside of you. I don’t know but I think that these guys and 'God is an Astronaut' are different, and they are years in front of the others in post-rock music style.
Shakenstir (UK)
Collapse Under The Empire have created one dark adventure with 'Find A Place To Be Safe', which is capable of grabbing you by the throat for the journey. While there is sonic diversity, there's also a consistent musical formula which can make this occasionally sound a tad repetitive. However, I remain hugely impressed by the band's ability to construct instrumental music that paints pictures of such emotional power, while remaining easily accessible. Strongly recommended.
AutumnSound (US)
With their debut album 'Systembreakdown' containing just the right blend of catchy riffs, up-beat drums and soothing breakdowns with the kind of electronic touches that would make Depeche Mode shed a tear, this is definitely the band of the hour. It’s great stuff for the night, setting the mood for quiet reflection and contemplation

third release

Nach unseren beiden erfolgreichen releases (Stun - And At Least You Dance und Trashmonkeys - Smile) präsentieren wir euch nun eine weitere, vielversprechende Band aus Deutschland.

DOGS ON CATWALK - Tainted Glove

'Tainted Glove' CD release date 23.10.2009

Wir wünschen Euch also viel Hörvergnügen.

second release

We are proud to announce our second release:
TRASHMONKEYS - Smile

Again we're going against the grain and release it on vinyl housed in a deluxe gate-fold sleeve!!

'Smile' Album release date: 03.04.2009 (XNO Records/ALIVE)
'Smile' Album vinyl release date 03.04.2009 (Sister Jack/Cargo)

2009 - Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...es geht wieder los!!! Die erste Single des neuen Albums heißt Give That To Me.

Visions …

Stun released their debut album on Sister Jack at january 9th

With our first release we present one of Germany's most exciting Indie bands. Stun, too, go against the grain, aren't chasing after the latest trend but are doing their thing as they have since they formed. Together with D.R. they've produced their own, homogenous debut album: A compact unit from tracks 1 to 10, from cover to booklet, start to finish, front to back.

The analogue production gives the album our beloved rough, yet warm sound.

STUN
With their ‚The Need To Walk’-EP, Stun caught the attention of several German nationwide music magazines as early as in 2006. While ‘Visions’ and ‘Intro’ referred to ‘Stun’ as an “awesome indie-band”, other papers claimed a more distint confession of the band to pop music. Again, others placed them within the noise-rock genre.
Stun, however stayed true to themselves, playing more than 80 shows, some of them as support for such well-reputated indie acts as ‘Art Brut’, ‘The Thermals’, ‘Pale’ and ‘Favez’.

And At Least You Dance

Stun’s debut, entitled ‘And At Least You Dance’, recorded and produced by Dennis Rux (Trashmonkeys) has turned out to be a genuine Independent Rock album. Stun are the offspring of 90s Indie Rock, holding up the love for letting pop songs escalate and letting their vocals run through their guitar amps.
Stun are quoting Jochen Distelmeyer (formerly ‘Blumfeld’) without making any musical confession to Blumfeld as well as reciting Bono, as if they’d given up the love of their life while there were U2 being played. ‘And At Least You Dance’ however, is in no way about an inflationary use of famous quotations…
Stun are true songwriters, wrapping up their lyrics in several layers of a very original sound. In every single syllable and noise, you can hear a band that aims for musical honesty and credebility. When all words fail, Stun let loose the melodies from their guitars.

“I encouraged Stun to record the album live and as a whole band. I like the interaction within the band and all the edges that come with it. Their sound is not corporate, their guitarplay and the way the vocals are done has got something very unique. Everything has been recorded completely analogue in my studio. This has always been the most beautiful way of producing a band.”, says producer Dennis Rux.

It is quite obvious that Stun’s way may not be the way that the mainstream is flowing down. But still, ‘And At Least You Dance’ does have a certain kind of pop-appeal to it. In ‘The Need To Walk’ and ‘Into The New’, even the deadly feared chorus-singalong-lovers might want to make friends with the band.
